Tufting- An Art
Selecting the Raw Material
The process of making the rug is initiated with choosing Raw Material, which is sourced from different places. The most premium wool is sourced from New Zealand known as New Zealand Wool and some other popular wool used are Silk, viscose, Indian Blended wool and so much more.
Dying the wool according to the design
In the design process, weavers create or customize designs based on client preferences. The wool is then dyed using either synthetic or natural dyes. Natural dyes, akin to vegetable dyes, lack synthetic elements, resulting in less vibrant but smoother hues, imparting a gentle texture to the rug. Synthetic dyes offer vivid colors with a wide range of shades. The dyed wool is rolled into a ball to facilitate smooth material extraction during the tufting phase.
Tufting
Then the rug is made by punching threads of wool into a canvas that is stretched on a frame by using a hand-operated tufting gun. The rug is made from Premium Lustrous Wool with a backing of cotton cloth to make it highly durable. Made in India, this rug can last for 15-20 years without a problem.
Gluing and Backing
After the weaving is complete, rug is sent for gluing to solidify the loops and then it is backed with a cotton cloth for extra protection and finishing.
Finishing
The rug ought to be trimmed from front side to remove unwanted yarn. The rug is levelling and finishing is given between the lines in the design my manually cutting it with scissors. After vacuum cleaning, it is packed by using packing material for the shipping process.
